Meet Dr. Kip Nielson
“l feel extremely blessed and fortunate to provide healthy and beautiful smiles to all those that l treat. I am thankful for the opportunity l have as a dentist to meet and serve so many wonderful people in the Austin area.”
Dr. Kip Nielson was born and raised in North Ogden, Utah. He has an older brother and is a twin. His twin brother is Dr. Cody, who is also a practicing dentist here at StarLight Dental. They are best friends and love that they have the opportunity to practice dentistry together.
Following high school graduation, Dr. Nielson spent two years as a missionary in El Salvador where he became a fluent speaker of the Spanish language and enjoys using his language skills in his profession as a dentist.
Upon completion of his missionary endeavor, Dr. Nielson attended Brigham Young University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. He played football at BYU where he was named defensive rookie of the year, an all-academic first team selection of the Mountain West Conference, and a Verizon Wireless All Area Academic First Team selection. While attending BYU, he met and married the love of his life, Kajsa Ferguson. After they both graduated in 2004, they moved to Texas where he attended dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following graduation, he and his family moved to the Austin Area and joined his father-in-law (Dr. Bob Ferguson) at StarLight Dental. It has been an incredibly unique and special opportunity to be part of an amazing family practice with his father-in-law and twin brother.
Dr. Nielson and his wife, Kajsa, have been married for almost 18 years and have been blessed with three wonderful children, two girls and a boy. Dr. Nielson's greatest joy is his family and he loves spending time with them.
Dr. Nielson also enjoys taking family vacations, spending time outdoors, working out, and playing and watching sports. His family actively participates in their church, and looks for ways to give back to the community.
